History of the car
The car started his life in 1951 as a Stanguellini FIAT bodied from aluminium by Pinin Farina wich Mario Ricci drove during races.
One day, while it was being driven out of the garage for a test drive, the block off plate that was lying down on the ground cut one of its tires which was then mistakenly replaced by an 8-ply tire, a type of tire suitable for vans and trucks but too rigid for a racing car. In a turn taken at high velocity the car bumped against a large tree and that seemed to be the end of its racing days.
In 1954 it was reported in Italy during races like one of the last L'Aosta-Grand S.Bernardo hillclimb, Palermo-Monte Pellegrino 1957, Bolzano-Mendola at 1961 and 4hours of Pescara circuit at 1961.
Later entrusted to Morelli brothers, known coachbuilders of Ferrara, and the small car was repaired splendidly and placed a new engine from Fiat 1100/103 updated by Rodolfo Patriarca who also repair the damaged chassis.
In 1958 the car was upgraded again in order to compete in formula Junior single-car races, as there were few cars back in 1959, and indeed it took part in some circuit races.
The car abandoned in a garage for many years and discovered from Peppino Valerii who also tried to restore it.
Even a great classic Ferrari collector Peppino loves this rare Barchetta and participate in many modern classic car events and races such as Gran Premio Di Bari, Gran Premio Di Arezzo, Circuito delle Caldaie of Ascoli-Piceno & his favorite Circuito Di Avezzano.
This album dedicated to the memory of Peppino Valerii a great person, car historian and real gentleman...
Now the historic car continue his life in USA and the proud owner Joe Capasso restore it again in depth so in this Concours condition is ready for new adventures!
