Carrozzeria Fratelli Casale & Meneghetti was born in 1919 in via Verci in Bassano del Grappa VI as a society founded by Carlo Casale,Ippolito Casale and his brother in law Domenico Meneghetti.

After a very short time Domenico Meneghetti broke away from society who moves to Avenue XI Febbraio always in Bassano del Grappa.
Brothers Carlo and Ippolito Casale decided to continue the construction special bodies for cars on trellis frames OM - FIAT - ANSALDO - LANCIA and MARINO until 1930 with a staff that touched 90 employees. 

The bodies were realized in wood, then covered in Weimar, all the other parties were created in steel hand-hammered metal.

The upholstery was in wool or leather.
The great global petrol crisis breaks down and Italy also the company went bankrupt. The two brothers were divided and Ippolito transferred in Caserta, where he founded a car body repair shop, while Carlo stays in Bassano, and after a few years or so in 1937 he opened also a body repair shop.
After World War II the children of Carlo: Dario, Danilo, Dino & Dina continue the work of their father Carlo until 1999, where the last carrozerria Casale closes completely.

In the 50s grandfather Carlo slowly releases the management to his sons, always watching for them, but then Dario in 1960 was the first to break away from the brothers to found the "Dario Casale Carrozerria", in the end of 1965 was the Dino's time to separate and open his  "Carrozerria Dino Casale".
He was so Daniele and Dina to continue under the name "Carrozzeria Casale".

Initially Dario begins to repair motorbikes, then moves to the cars; was a short step from body repairs to go to construction, first with prototypes for customers and then specifically Auto-Funeral until 1999.

Prototypes of Dario Casale, were the interpretations of the Body; designed for pleasure and then created at will.

 

1) 1961 Baby Formula Junior.
2) 1967 Alfa Romeo Severtail based on Giulia 1600 Chassis (105).
3) 1968 Alfa Romeo Prettycar 1968 with chassis by Abarth - Alemanno.
4) 1971 Casale Porsche 914, this remained unfinished and the sons of Dario decided to end the last prototype made by Carrozerria Casale changing many things and modernizing a bit all together,finishing the basic idea of ​​their father!

F.lli CASALE CARROZZIERI

 

 

La Carrozzeria F.lli Casale & Meneghetti , nasce nel 1919  in via Verci  a Bassano del Grappa VI  come società  fondata da Carlo Casale, Ippolito Casale e il cognato  Domenico Meneghetti , ma poi gia dopo pochissimo tempo il cognato si staccò dalla società che si trasferisce in viale XI Febbraio sempre a Bassano del Grappa.

I Fratelli  Carlo e Ippolito Casale decisero di  proseguire  la costruzione di carrozzerie per automobili su telai a traliccio  OM – FIAT – ANSALDO – LANCIA -  MARINO  sino al 1930 con un organico che toccava 90 dipendenti.

Le scocche si realizzavano in legno poi con coperture in Weimar, tutte le altre parti venivano create in lamiera di acciaio battute a mano. La tappezzeria era in lana o pelle.

Quando la società  fallì causa la grande crisi mondiale che  si abbatte anche in Italia, i due fratelli si divisero e Ippolito si Trasferì a Caserta, dove fonda una Carrozzeria per riparazioni di automobili, mentre Carlo rimane a Bassano e dopo alcuni anni circa nel 1937 anche lui  apre una carrozzeria per riparazioni di automobili.

Dopo la seconda guerra  mondiale i figli di Carlo : Dario, Danilo, Dino e Dina continueranno l’attività del padre Carlo fino al 1999, dove l’ultima carr. Casale chiude completamente e definitivamente i Battenti.

Negli anni ’50 il nonno Carlo cede lentamente la gestione ai figli, vigilando sempre su di loro, poi però Dario  nel 1960 fu il primo a staccarsi dai fratelli per fondare la  “ Dario Casale Carrozziere” , in fine fu Dino nel 1965 a  separarsi per aprire la sua Carrozzeria  “ Carr. Dino Casale”  Rimase cosi Danilo e Dina a continuare con il nome di Carrozzeria Casale.

 

 

Inizialmente Dario inizia a riparare moto, poi passa alle Automobili,il passo fu breve dalle riparazioni passare alle costruzioni : prima con prototipi per clienti e poi  nello specifico Auto-funebri fino al 1999.

 

I Prototipi di Dario Casale,  furono delle rivisitazioni delle Carrozzerie;  disegnati   per  diletto e poi creati a suo piacere.

2. Alfa Romeo  Severital 1967 su telaio Giulia 1600 (105).

3.  Alfa Romeo  Prettycar 1968 su telaio Abarth - Alemanno.

4. Porsche V.W 914  1971 questa rimase incompiuta, i figli di Dario deciserò di terminarla post mortem  cambiando molte cose e modernizzando un po’ tutto l’insieme  stralciando l’idea di base di Dario….!
