"Have you ever seen the colours of a lake while climbing a picturesque mountain? Have you ever driven your classic on the winding roads of a forest? Have you ever driven in a summer’s night breeze? If you answered No any of the above, well here is your chance! Experience Abruzzo National Park and Circuito di Avezzano at night. Live one weekend full of elegance in beautiful italian nature along with amazing classic cars!
Regione verde d’Italia!
Among the Italian regions, Abruzzo is the one with the largest number of parks and protected areas: three National Parks, a Regional Park and over thirty Nature Reserves, a record that makes the region the largest naturalistic area in Europe, the true green heart of the Mediterranean. A dance of scents, flavours and vibrations to experience together the enchantment of a wonderful land.
Storia, arte, natura!
The Circuito di Avezzano takes you to discover unexpected places. Three days of intense passion and unspoiled nature, on deserted roads, ancient villages and majestic mountains. But surprises don't stop there. The tenth edition of the Avezzano Circuit, which cuts through the city in the night, brings to life the magic of the races of the past, aboard sportscars, "barchettas" and prewar cars. Appointment is from 1 to 3 July 2022 for this event selected by the prestigious ASI Tricolore Circuit, sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Transport, Infrastructures and ANCI.
Friday 01 July
from: Avezzano to: Pescasseroli Km: 110
"The Avezzano circuit is a multifaceted event.
There are walks in unique mountain sceneries
which still reserve the pleasure of discovery.
There are timed trials, moments of
conviviality, the castles and micro villages of Marsica
to know. And there is the adrenaline of a circuit
citizen recalled in the wake of a local passion
for racing that has its roots in the 1950s ".

"The following morning, departure from the monumental incile del Fucino for Scanno, a village with a solid goldsmith tradition, and Pescasseroli, a lively tourist resort. In the evening, the race of over one hundred historic boats (among which very rare and perfectly preserved specimens stood out) through the streets of the center of Avezzano suitably cordoned off, between two wings of a partying crowd."

The city circuit at night!
"The historic center of Avezzano transforms itself for one night and becomes the stage for a unique event. The moment most awaited by the participants and the population: the city circuit.
Fifteen thousand people watch the parade of 100 vintage cars built from 1908 to 1970, all uncovered, whizzing along a track that winds over two kilometers of roads closed to traffic.
The presence of sports and entertainment personalities stimulates the curiosity of the spectators who, already several hours before departure, crowd behind the barriers waiting for the concert of engine roars.
The audience is that of great occasions, the traders leave the windows lit as a sign of collaboration, the drivers stroll amiably in the city center crowding the bars for an aperitif.
The large Piazza Risorgimento is full of cars, expertly arranged to be admired.
The adrenaline mounts, the engines heat up."

Saturday 03 July
At the Castello Orsini Colonna Avezzano with the presentation of the book "10 years of the Avezzano circuit" by Tesori d'Abruzzo, finally, at the Municipal Art Gallery of the Piccolomini Castle in Avezzano, the exhibition "The Counts of the future" will be inaugurated to celebrate two great personalities of motorsport active between the two world wars: Carlo Felice Trossi and Mario Revelli di Beaumont. The exhibition curated by Corrado Lopresto seals with this cultural moment, an edition that will remain in history.
Great satisfaction from the participants who discovered truly fantastic areas of Abruzzo and above all from the Patron of the event Felice Graziani, who thanks to the novelty of the Abruzzo Gran Tour once again underlined that the real protagonist of this event is the territory with the its history, culture, food and wine and landscapes.
A format that of the Abruzzo Gran Tour and the Avezzano Circuit that allows you to visit Abruzzo in all its facets aboard your own vintage spider and which will certainly be replicated next year.

From my experiences box: The international crew Rene Van Stokrom (NED) & Vasileios Papaidis (GRE), among 100 participants enjoying the night Circuito, thanks to all, it was an amazing experience! Foto: Salvatore Bianchi official photographer of Circuito di Avezzano - Abruzzo Grand Tour 2022.

The 105 Talbot, so-called following a discovery that its engine produced 105bhp at 4500rpm, was designed by the brilliant German-Swiss Georges Roesch. Roesch was chief engineer at Talbot before the marque’s Darracq takeover; one of many changes of ownership in its complex history. In 1925, Roesch moved to London to focus on Talbot’s racing models, supplying examples to the legendary Fox and Nicholls privateer team who built racing bodies for the cars and campaigned them competitively. 1931 saw the birth of the 105 and the resulting success on track through Fox and Nicholls kept the Talbot marque’s road sales increasing as other STD fortunes continued to decline. By the beginning of 1934, Sunbeam Talbot Darracq was in real trouble, and the Talbot marque was sold off to Rootes to redeem an outstanding bank loan. It was, at this time, that Roesch was at the peak of his career and design ability. His cars are renowned for their cohesive and economic design, and his engines for their bulletproof simplicity. As Anthony Blight noted in his go-to book on the subject, George Roesch and the Invincible Talbot, the road versions of 1934 were ‘more desirable than ever to the discriminating motorist with a taste for long fast journeys’.

Really honored, thanks for the memorial gift, Felice Graziani, organizators, sponsors, staff, participants and friends beeng there. God bless you all! The amazing classic next to me is an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 based on a chassis from 1931 with a unique body starting from the design of the legendary Mario Revelli di Beaumont and constructed by Carrozzeria Aprile from Savona well known as SV 3710 prototype built on 07/05/1938? The car belongs to the Corrado Lopresto Collection. All the year I can show you some of these rare classics with a special review, see you in the next edition!
